Student Contests

Each fall at the annual Utah Section meeting, college students compete in the Undergraduate Range Management Examination (URME) and Plant ID contests. The URME covers topics such as rangeland ecology, grazing management, range improvement, rangeland inventory and analysis, and multiple-use relationships. The Plant ID contest requires students to identify 100 plants using specimens and a list of 200 species.

We want to congratulate all of the students who participated in this year’s contests. Four universities were represented, including Utah State University, Brigham Young University, Southern Utah University, and Snow College.

Thank you, students, for your hard work and dedication to the future of range management!
